The EuroBrand - Made in the EU
The concept of the Euroband label is one which has been around since the first days of the European Union. Similar in nature to the “Made in the USA” brand it would pass over local made in “New York” in favour of made in the USA. This has some very obvious benifits when exporting items from a little known region or location, especially when that location is little known or respected for manufacturing etc.
While still in University I made a study on the Eurobrand - In short it looked at the advantages and disadvantages to European member states of using the Eurobrand label. There is a perception for certian countries to have greater skills than others for production such as Germany - who has a very good reputation for engineering, hard work and the production of quality automobiles - with this in mind and given the choice would you prefer a car manufactured in Germany or Romania, the obvious answer here would be Germany. However if you did not realise where the car was made and knew only that it was made in the EU, would this matter ?
For countries with little known production or manufacturing competencies in Europe the ability to use an origin brand such as made in the EU would be an obvious advantage.
